New original music for accordion, electronica and poetry from the North
Composer Karoline Skriver writes new music for Icelandic accordionist Ásta Soffia Thorgeirsdottir. The two musicians meet both in Norway, where Ásta currently lives, and Denmark – working on the compositions until the premiere and beginning of a nordic tour in Denmark in October 2025. The music is for solo accordion and electronica -sometimes mixed with spoken or recorded poetry from the different nordic countries. The two artist are inspired by the nordic landscape and also the nordic traditional music – though the music has a more contemporary expression.
Karoline has been recording sounds from the mountains of Norway and the forrests and coastlines of Denmark to be part of the electronical part of the compositions and she is also using recordings of different people reciting nordic poetry from their homecountry.
